Shadowban
A shadowban is when a platform quietly limits your reach without telling you, your posts still appear to you but are hidden from others' feeds and search. Creators usually get shadowbanned for breaking content rules, spamming, or using flagged hashtags.
Shadowbans are common on Instagram, TikTok and Reddit for adult-adjacent accounts. The tell-tale sign is a sudden, sustained drop in reach with no policy notice.
Avoid them by keeping discovery content SFW, following each platform's rules, respecting repost windows, and avoiding banned hashtags.
